A celebration of 100 years

in one unforgettable year.

Join us at over a dozen free community events and activities throughout the year commemorating 100 years of UCLA. Events range from free community concerts, to a 6–mile open streets celebration in downtown LA with CicLAvia, to a day of service led by the UCLA Volunteer Center with 100 sites across LA and around the world. Additional events will be added and unveiled throughout the year.

This is Bruin Life is program for undergraduate students featuring a selection of stories from current students and alumni, sharing what they have learned, how they have grown, intervened, spoken up, and worked to create the Bruin Life they want to see—and the UCLA they believe ought to be. The UCLA Community Voices mobile studio will be on site to capture the voice of students, staff, and alumni all working together to celebrate 100 years of impact and create a welcoming campus community.

Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019 | All Day | Global
UCLA Volunteer Day is an annual day of service offering participants a wide-range of community service projects around the globe. Projects include sorting donations at food banks and shelters, beautifying K-12 schools, parks and neighborhoods and visiting with residents at senior centers and veterans’ facilities. Join us as we give back across 100 project sites across the city and around the globe.

Sunday, Sept. 29, 2019 | All Day | The Row in DTLA
Celebrate 100 years of UCLA at a free, multi-dimensional pop-up in the Arts District downtown where attendees can join in on the creation of an interactive community mural, view art installations and experience a human library where volunteers act as “open books”. Legendary actor and activist George Takei, Coolhaus founder and CEO Natasha Case and renowned LA chef Ray Garcia will each team up with a UCLA professor to host keynote talks on the mainstage.

This is a special multi-day event, where students from all over Southern California come to UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion to code, innovate, and compete for the best idea prototype. The end result is Southern California’s largest student hackathon: a sped-up thinktank of determined inventors with the skillsets to move the world forward.
